The Vision Behind Lady Penelope’s
Lady Penelope’s developed from a love of afternoon tea, many of which were shared with my beautiful mama, Iris (centre) and sister Penelope (Penny) (left). We made many precious memories during those special times.
After losing them both to ill health during the summer of 2021, an idea was born to keep their memories alive, and to continue to spread the happiness that time spent with family and friends over afternoon tea can bring.
I have spent many a happy day searching charity shops, vintage stores and antique establishments for quintessentially English pieces. This drive has enabled me to source an exquisite range of china for you to hire, everything from beautiful teacups to stunning teapots and elegant cake stands. The thrill is in the find and the story attached to each piece, making them special and unique.
What We Do
We are a family-run business based in Borrowash near Derby, hiring out stunning vintage china locally and throughout the East Midlands.
We offer a personal and tailored service to meet your needs. We cater for small gatherings of 4 through to 150. Our vintage china is of the highest quality, adding elegance and style to your event. Included within our fabulous collection are pieces from Royal Grafton, Royal Albert, Crown Fenton, Colclough, Royal Vale, Royal Standard and many more to delight you. We also supply a range of pretty vintage accessories to complete the look.
We offer an eclectic and vibrant mix of vintage china to meet your needs and would be happy to discuss your requirements. We strive to colour & pattern match where possible to your requirements, but due to the rarity of some of the individual pieces collected, we cannot guarantee that the china is of the same pattern throughout. Here at Lady Penelope’s, we believe that a beautiful mix-and-match table adds to the appeal and authenticity.
Start with our £5 per guest as your base; this gives you everything you need for your afternoon tea-style celebration. You can then choose to add extra finishing touches from our individually priced item list, should you wish. This way, you choose what works best for you and your event, and you can manage your budget.
